AUDIOBULB

AudioBulb is a pair of multimedia desktop speakers that fits any indoor environment. With a power button and volume control, it is designed to have a full sound with the quality of the mahogany and openness of the cabinet. The roundness of the form, warmth of the wood texture, and consistency of the dark color scheme makes it not only a product of beautiful sound but also one of a pleasing, universal aesthetic.

PROCESS

The AudioBulb cabinets were manufactured and quoted by a local woodworking manufacturer, and after several meetings with electronics companies, the electronics were assembled by yours truly.

First, I met with a few electronics companies to learn about speaker parts and how to design around them. Then I took the designs to a local woodworking manufacturer, East Coast Laminating Co., where the cabinets were quoted and manufactured.

After receiving the parts, I drilled the necessary holes and coated the cabinets with beeswax.

Then I took apart some existing speakers for examination and experimentation with wire soldering before completing the final one.

The wires, speakers, circuit board, screws, cords, power and volume buttons, heads, and such were put together after testing the sound.

With the finishing touches, with the speaker mesh to protect the speakers and felt feet to prevent vibration, the AudioBulb is ready to be used.
