WOODWIND

Inspired by the movement and rhythm of music, Woodwind is a bentwood wall lamp through which flowing curvature meets broken geometry, and broken curvature meets flowing geometry.

The thin white maple veneer acts as a diaphanous material to diffuse the bright LED lights running along the compound curves, while allowing the lights to peek through different layers as they are pulled back to provide more 3-dimensionality.

Placed a couple inches off the wall, the LEDs not only become an almost ambient lighting, but also backlights the bentwood form to emphasize and celebrate the structure of the light itself.
